While some of the flights were for regular public transport, most of his hours flown were for fly-in-fly-out trips for a mining company. Ludwig said once crew were away from the base, he managed most of the operational requirements for each charter flight. He said the experience had given him an excellent understanding of the end-to-end process for charter management. “My industry experience as a pilot, has given me the advantage of understanding aviation operations in full. From the charter request to disembarking the passengers - I've done it all,” he said. Ludwig’s fascination with flying and aviation started from a young age and continues to be a major personal and professional passion for him.
