Paul O'Brien

Managing Director

Paul started AVMIN on the back of many successful years working in both commercial airlines and the charter aviation sectors. What started as a small FIFO logistics operation, AVMIN soon became an international aircraft charter and end to end logistics & concierge company. YEARS IN INDUSTRY: 12

Amrit Wijesuriya

General Manager

Amrit began his career in Mining Logistics where he created and managed several rural FIFO projects over his 3 year period at Salva Resources. Amrit’s qualifications and experience in business management have led him to his role as General Manager where he oversees the entire air charter operations and commercial side of the business as well as managing our Aviation Safety Policies. Kristy Fennell

AVMIN Operations Manager

With more than 17 years’ experience in operational management, business development and sales in the Australian travel industry, Kristy is no stranger to the charter sector. Kristy spent over a decade with the corporate travel division of Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) in business management roles. She joins AVMIN following four years heading up operations for FCTG’s academic brand, Campus Travel (which rebranded to FCM Academic in 2018) and was also National Sales Leader for three years with Corporate Traveller. Her industry success includes a long history of new business acquisition and growth, strategic sales management, operational management, partnerships and relationship building. Known for her ability to optimise business output and drive results with high-performing teams, Kristy has an excellent understanding of what it takes in the travel industry to deliver service excellence for customers. Having worked closely with many Corporate Traveller, Campus Travel and FCM Travel Solutions’ clients that had large charter components as part of their travel programs, Kristy has a deep understanding of the charter sector from a supplier and client perspective. Kristy’s key responsibility for AVMIN, is to provide operational and business leadership with a view to growing the brand’s service offering, technology and charter management team.

Ludwig Ehrke

AVMIN Charter Manager

As a former pilot, Ludwig has a unique understanding of the aviation and charter sector. Before joining the AVMIN team, Ludwig spent almost a decade as a pilot working for a charter company in South Africa. As part of his role, Ludwig flew passenger aircraft domestically and across borders to various countries in Africa. While some of the flights were for regular public transport, most of his hours flown were for fly-in-fly-out trips for a mining company. Ludwig said once crew were away from the base, he managed most of the operational requirements for each charter flight. He said the experience had given him an excellent understanding of the end-to-end process for charter management. “My industry experience as a pilot, has given me the advantage of understanding aviation operations in full. From the charter request to disembarking the passengers - I've done it all,” he said. Ludwig’s fascination with flying and aviation started from a young age and continues to be a major personal and professional passion for him. The former pilot has been a part of the AVMIN team for three years and is known for his expertise in matching clients with chartered flight services that are appropriate for their needs –no matter how technical the requirements are.

Felix Lester

AVMIN Charter Manager

Felix joined AVMIN in 2020 and oversees the business’ charter bookings for government clients. An aviation enthusiast, Felix has a personal and professional interest in the aviation and travel sector. He was well on his way to becoming a commercial pilot but had to change direction because of an eye condition, which prevents him from flying. But the young Charter Manager hasn’t let that stop him from being part of the travel industry. Having been a member of the AVMIN team for five months, Felix has proven to be highly proficient in the technical aspects of charter management and focused on providing responsive customer service. He has in-depth knowledge of the remote destinations charter clients are usually flying to and prides himself on being a fast learner with a high attention to detail. While working full-time, the 22-year-old is also completing a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University.

Debbie Minchenton

Office Manager

Deb has over 20 years’ managerial and administrative experience. She joined AVMIN in early 2014 as an Office Manager after 7 years of managing a staff of 30 in the Property Industry. Deb has a strong accounting background and adds her knowledge and experience to the AVMIN team. She handles all the accounts and supports the positive environment of the AVMIN office. Ceddy Mayor

Airport Manager

Born on Thursday Island in the Torres Straits, Ceddy has always worked in and around aviation since he was teenager and has always been fascinated with planes and theory of flight. Started off as a baggage handler for Qantas on Thursday Island and worked his way up to becoming the Security & Emergency Planning Manager for Adelaide International Airport. His aviation Journey consists of Managing Regional and remote airports, Flight Operations, flight Crew Roster Management, Load Controller (Aae) and, has successfully Project Managed various North Queensland airports to Certification Standard meeting CASA CASR Part 139 – Aerodrome Regulations. In 2004 Ceddy completed his Commercial Pilots Licence at the North QLD Aero Club. In short Ceddy jokingly states had he has done most roles in aviation from throwing bags to flying planes and everything in between.

Karen Strange

Airport Manager

Karen's aviation career began in 2002 in Paraburdoo WA. She started as a GHA Ramp agent and her skill set since then has grown to include ARO/WSO duties, aerodrome maintenance, airline operations management - domestic, international and charter, aerodrome management - domestic and international including compliance plan creation and maintenance (BAHMC, TSP, manuals, terminal procedures, ASIC programs etc). Karen also has experience in domestic and international freight, including the acceptance of Major freight and AN124’s. Karen has extensive experience in organising aerodrome works projects, MOWP’s including pavement, ATC/ARFF interface and AGL upgrades. This experience has given her the opportunity to work along side with some awesome people. Karen is self-diagnosed obsessed with aviation! YEARS IN INDUSTRY: 18

Gavin Neville

Airport Manager

Gavin Neville has brought a diverse range of experience to the Cooper Basin Airport Management team. Previous to joining the team Gavin has worked for Qantas Domestic and International divisions as well as In Regional Councils, Mining, Resource, Defence and Civil Airport Operations.
